Swanville-Upsala area
Swanville , population 334 , is located in western Morrison County , 17 miles southwest of Little Falls .
Lions Park is the centerpiece of the city . It features a community center , picnic shelter , restrooms and a skating rink in the winter .
The Swanville School offers an education to students in grades kindergarten through high school , all under one roof . Businesses in the city include a bank , a bar , cafe , feed mill , lumberyard , hardware and grocery store , gas stations , auto and truck repair shop , tractor machinery repair shop , a farm feed supply store , a trucking firm and two manufacturing firms . The city has its own fire department .
The city hosts an annual summer carnival that attracts many people from throughout the state , and in the winter , an ice fishing contest is held on Long Lake . The next contest is scheduled for Saturday , Feb . 24 , 2024 .

Upsala students , grades 5-12 , will present a band concert at 7:30 p . m . in the Upsala School auditorium

Upsala Elementary students are performing at 1:30 p . m . and 6:30 p . m .
Thursday , Dec . 19 • Christmas Lights Contest in Upsala
Judges for the 2023 Christmas Lights Contest in Upsala will pick the winners of the city-wide contest — a residential and business winner will be chosen .
Saturday , Dec . 21 • Santa Day in Swanville
Swanville Santa Day will be held from 10 a . m . - noon at the Senior Center in Swanville .
Tuesday , Dec . 17 • Winter Concert in Swanville
Swanville students will perform their winter concern at 7 p . m . in the Swanville auditorium .
Saturday , Feb . 22 , 2025 • Fishing Contest on Long Lake
The Swanville / Sobieski Lions ice fishing contest on Long Lake in Todd County runs from noon – 3 p . m . Cash prizes for largest fish . First 125 kids on the ice , 12 and younger , receive a free ice fishing pole . Raffle drawing will be held at 6 p . m . at the Polish Palace in Sobieski .
