Ending…
So it’s done. But I like to say that I’m never
done.
It’s happened to me numerous times
throughout my 2014-2015 academic year. I
achieve something cool. The feeling is
always nice, a festivity happens, and it’s
always wonderful. But then, the beginning
of the deadmau5 song “Avaritia” plays in my
head. At that point, I have a ‘keep it
moving’ mentality in my head. It’s as if as
the opening part of the song builds up in my
head, I realize all that I could do next. So in
a sense, this magazine isn’t done. Now, I
have to figure out what to do next.
But I still have to make some
acknowledgements. While I had a load of
fun creating this, it wasn’t a small
endeavor. It required a lot of work on my
part. However, this really couldn’t have
been done without the help of many other
people. So time to thanks those people.
A thanks to those who agreed to let me
check out their cars. To Bill and the
anonymous Alpina B7 owner, thank
you. They were truly good experiences. To
the people at West Hills Nissan (9020.us),
thank you for teaching me more about
CVTs. Had I had more time for my project
(school can be very busy), I may have
asked for a test ride in a CVT-equipped
car. To Barry Debany of Wide World
Ferrari-Maserati
(wideworldferrarimaserati.com), thank you
for your interest in my project. To my first
semester magazine journalism class, I
appreciate your interest in the project. To
Instagram user chetbagged, thank you for
your interest. Unfortunately, your VW
Beetle and Audi couldn’t be covered due to
a lack of time. Thank you to the people at
Pittsburgh Cars ‘n Coffee for your
interest. DoctaM3, R8Pro, Trevor Dailey (of
Trevor’s Automotive Photography), Tanner
Littell, Gino Cialone, Jeremy Kinneer, Jake
(who let me ride in a Model S), thank you
all. Cincy_gtt, you had a LOT of interest in
my project. I appreciate your interest and
your advice. To my mentor, thank you so
much for your help. The magazine design
would not have turned out the way it did
without you. To the person I shadowed,
thank you for all you taught me. To the
Hyundai representatives I met at the
Pittsburgh International Auto Show, thank
you for your super-kind and touching
words. Finally, a super-big thank you goes
to my family, especially for the ‘surprise’ of
the 2015 North American International Auto
Show. I must give this warning: I have to do
it again next year. Hopefully on a media
day. A thank you to my dad for getting me
to the Pittsburgh International Auto Show
despite the not-so-great weather. It was a
very accomplished day.
If you played a role in this, I apologize if I
forgot you, and if I did, please remember the
role you played in this project.
As the 3:52 part of “Avaritia” is playing in my
head, I really have to think about what to do
next. At the time of writing, I still don’t
know.
But I’ll figure it out.
Thanks to all of you for reading this. If you
