best). However, there is a glaring problem with the car. Is it a great car? Yes, absolutely. The problems are the sales and the price. Many have noticed that the MKT (and its cousin, the Ford Flex) has suffered from low sales. How low? About 4800 sold in 2014 in the USA. A quick visit to Lincoln’s website indicates that the MKT is the only model currently listed as a 2014, so it is likely discontinued. What went wrong? Well, the looks were probably too polarizing for many. From reading customer reviews, many say that people simply did not give the car enough of a chance. I somewhat agree with that. But another issue could be the price. This car came up to about US$58,000. At that price, an Audi Q7 could be had, which would come with greater refinement. And many of the features of the MKT can be had on the cheaper Ford Flex, highlighting Lincoln’s current woes. That brings the question as to whether the car is a good value. To add insult to injury, the car depreciates fast. A two year old MKT can lose almost half of its original value. That’s great to those buying preowned, but not great to those buying new. So would I recommend the car brand new to someone? Possibly. Us ed? Definitely. Either way, the car is loveable.
