Chris, please tell us a little about
yourself and your background?
I am co-owner of Ascension
Publishing, LLC, PR, author, poet,
songwriter, guest speaker, husband,
Paralegal Graduate, Member of Black
Male Emergent Readers, Member of
Southside Writers and Book Club,
co-host and written word contributor
for EDP 365 E-magazine and Blog
Radio Show. I love to write, seek truth,
travel, bowl, shoot pool, basketball,
football and exercise. Goines, Langston Hughes, James
Baldwin, Fred Douglas, Maya Angelou,
Anne Rice.
When did you decide to become a
writer? I decided to become a writer back
in 2000. Tell us about what have you written?
Books, Short Stories, Poems, Blogs,
etc...
What made you decide to sit down and
actually start something? I have written primarily short stories,
poems and songs.
I sat down and started writing on a more
serious note when the people I knew and
trusted told me that I was very talented
and descriptive writer. They would
always ask me when was I coming out
with a book. When you can pull couples
back together after a break up or make
people laugh or cry with your words I felt
I was on to something.
Which writers inspire you?
Some of the writers that I grew up
reading and inspired me were Donald
What genre are your books? What draws
you to this genre?
To date my books are non-fiction
memoirs, poetry and short stories
reflecting my life in the form of self-help,
poetry.
I feel drawn and compelled to write
books that will challenge and help
people become better individuals.
