M There’s Power in the OONRISE! Here’s to Rainbows and Green Grass... I’m sitting here drinking my umpteenth cup of tea, and watching raindrops trace their way down the glass outside. It’s been a very stormy and wet Spring, and I’d love to look out the windows and see lots of green, fruiting and flowering plants. But I guess I’ll have to wait awhile. Instead of focusing on what’s not going my way right now, I should be showing gratitude that this bounty of rain allows the grass to stay vivid green. And, I have to admit, it’s been nice to enjoy the beautiful flowers and gardens blooming all around me. It’s easier to clear my own yard because there’s no struggle with the weeds and noxious vegetation which keep showing up. Since the ground is so saturated with moisture, I can gently pluck the offenders. Life is like that. We go through struggles with every attempt at growth. Some days the sun is shining and we go along merrily along the way, with nothing to interfere in our successes and then, out of nowhere, here comes to hail and thunderstorm to chop us to bits and send us running for cover. By the time the storm ends, we’re pretty shredded – whatever dignity we may have had is now in tatters and we’re looking pretty raggedy around the edges. So, I think it’s time for a mind shift. Instead of thinking about all the negative connotations about rain, let’s focus and have gratitude for the magic elixir of life which will feed, nourish and re-energize. Today’s tatters will be tomorrows beautiful, bountiful harvest. So what if Spring’s a bit delayed. I’ll happily jump into Summer! Good things are worth waiting for – at least from where I sit. Yes, the day of first fruits may be pushed back a bit, but that doesn’t mean we won’t taste success. Blessings!
