Continued from page7 outside stimuli for direction and/or guidance. How often do you really ever stop and think about how it is your intuition came to be such a finely honed tool? It’s awe-inspiring to realize that when you’ve been practicing and using the tools in your toolbox that you are able to cut through chatter and listen to your inner guidance. And even though we know practice makes perfect, we don’t always spend the time to really make sure our tools are sharp and wellmaintained. We get lazy. And suddenly, one day things aren’t going as well as we think they should. We allow ego to gain a foothold and take our successes for granted. Things may run along on auto pilot for a bit, but ultimately, if we’re not properly grounded and accurately listening to our intuition, we start believing our own press. We tend to find ourselves meandering off course, so slowly that we don’t notice how far astray we are until it’s almost too late. At that point, we reactively attempt to turn on a dime and steer back on course, ensuring chaos as a result as we run headlong into the wall. At that point, ego is scared. With nowhere to hide and unable to truly walk the walk, ego skitters out of the way and you find yourself alone and facing uncertainty. When setting sail on rough seas, there’s a tendency to go with what you know and to fall back into old patterns. I’d like to ask you to stop. Just stop… right in your tracks… right where you are. When things get jumbled up, sometimes it’s just as well to stop. It’s the space between breaths that allows for pause. In that pause, there is an opportunity to consider just how far afield one is and what has to happen in order to get back on track. The opportunities presented will vanish if they’re not taken seriously. It is up to you to invest in those brief moments, just as you previously invested in yourself. It’s just that we choose not to reach out. We’d rather wallow in our own shallow ego driven thoughts than ask or reach out for help. The solution is so simple, that we almost can’t see it right in front of us. It’s time to disrupt the normal pattern and pay attention to what you already know. Instead of running for safe haven, I want you to spend a few minutes checking in with your inner warrior.
