The world’s leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by more than one million members in the United States and close to five million global- ly. WWF's unique way of working combines global reach with a foundation in science, involves action at every level from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solu- tions that meet the needs of both people and nature. When was WWF started? WWF came into existence on 29 April 1961, when a small group of passionate and committed individuals signed a dec- laration that came to be known as the Morges Manifesto .Snippet from the first page of the Morges Manifesto, the doc- ument which signaled the founding of WWF on April 29th 1961. How WWF Works? Forests, Oceans, Fresh Water, Wildlife, Food, Climate.............. These things are not just “nice to have” . . . they are “need to haves.” They are the things that make it possible for us to live. And so, to ensure our very survival, they must be kept safe. It’s a big job. And no one person or organization can do it alone. 15
