Blue Ribbon Cycles F alling Into Place Sitting at Buds Sports Bar with Chuck, discussing our first released issued of Moo2 Magazine and the daunting task of what to do for our second issue. Chuck speaks up, “I wanna do an article on these guys Blue Ribbon Cycles. They are great people and they have a really cool shop.” “Sounds good to me Chuck.”, little did I know I was going to meet them that afternoon. As we finished our burgers and jumped back in the Gus truck, Chuck was set on introducing me to the owners then and there.. so we drove a short way up Brainerd road and pulled into the parking lot of Blue Ribbon Cycles. From the outside, it looks like a normal shop, concrete building, White Aluminum roof, all pretty Standard. However when you walk inside, this Shop is anything but normal. We were greated by a Kary King (part owner of Blue Ribbon Cycles) sitting behind the counter. The atmosphere and warmth when you step inside the door is incredible. I immediatley felt welcomed and knew this was going to be a great interview! we introduced ourselves and told them what we would like to do. I could hear, who I would later be introduced to, (Pete Woodward), in the shop, Music blasting, and tools flying. Finishing a project. Kary took us into the shop, introduced us, and explained what we wanted to do. He seemed genuinely excited to do the interview. a few weeks later I was sitting at their counter documenting their story. With everything Falling into place. 30 “Pieced together our Shop..and made a go of it. Everything just kind of fell into place.” 31
