Monticello School District has proud history of education
The Monticello School District is led by Superintendent Eric Olson and is home to approximately 4,150 unique , incredible students , and hundreds of passionate educators .
ISD 882 has five schools , including Monticello High School , led by two co-principals Matthew Coalwell and Lori Hanson . With an enrollment of more than 1,300 students , Monticello High School is Wright County ’ s third-largest school .
The current high school , located at 5225 School Blvd ., was constructed in the late 1990s by architects Rego and Youngquist and officially opened in September 1999 . The nickname for the school ’ s athletic teams is the Magic .
The Monticello School District has a proud history of programming and a dedication to meeting the needs of each student that walks through its doors , embracing and rallying around the mantra of “ Every
Kid , Every Day .”
Students in Monticello are given every opportunity to succeed , thanks to talented and committed teachers and staff , top-notch technology and a supportive , education-oriented community .
The district believes strongly in creating a unique , tight-knit community that fosters a sincere desire for lifelong learning , in providing a wide use of technology to enhance individual learning and help prepare students for the global world , and in providing an array of music , arts and after-school activities to meet the numerous needs of the student body .
