Senior center offers welcoming place to gather
A warm social environment
The Monticello Senior Center is a welcoming community hub for older adults, offering opportunities to stay active, connected and engaged. Located within the Monticello Community Center, the Senior Center supports independence, well-being and meaningful social connection through a broad range of programs and services.
Activities, recreation and meals
From daily card games, bingo and book clubs to fitness opportunities, creative groups, music, trips and special events, there is always something happening. Noon meals are served Tuesday through Friday, providing both nutrition and a chance to connect with friends. Popular activities include pickleball, line dancing, ceramics, choir, writers group and open art studio time.
Support services and resources
The Senior Center provides access to important support services, including technology assistance, tax preparation help, free legal aid, blood pressure checks, caregiver support groups and referrals for in-home assistance through the HOME Program. Public computers with internet access are available, and volunteers play a key role in daily operations.

Community connections
Beyond programs and services, the Senior Center offers a welcoming space where relationships form and community is built. Participants come together to socialize, share experiences and remain connected to the broader community.
Leadership and partnerships
The Monticello Senior Center is led by Director Jay-Jay Tauzell and operated by Senior Community Services, a Minnesota nonprofit organization dedicated to helping older adults and caregivers live safely, independently and with dignity. Through partnerships with local organizations and service providers, the center continues to expand and adapt its offerings.
Location and information
The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m., with limited Saturday hours, and is located at 505 Walnut St., inside the Monticello Community Center.
