City Council
The Monticello City Council meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 6:30 p . m . in the Mississippi Room of the Monticello Community Center .
City Council meetings are also streamed live online at https :// monticello . viebit . com and are broadcast live on local cable channel 12 ( channel 180 for Charter subscribers ).
The City Council is comprised of the mayor and four council members . The mayor is the presiding officer and serves an elected two-year term . The council members serve four-year staggered terms with elections in even-numbered years .
