Fun for all at Monticello Community Center
Pool and waterslide
The Monticello Community Center’ s indoor pool, complete with a waterslide, offers something for all— from lap swimmers to baby splashers. The pool area features a zero-depth entry area with a play structure that includes a small slide and an area with basketball hoops and lane markers for lap swimming and a large, looping waterslide. There is no extra charge to use the waterslide, but you must be 42” or taller and able to swim on your own. Pool use is included in the daily pass and memberships.
Climbing wall
The climbing wall is located in the center of the community center and stands 38 feet tall. The wall features six top anchors with several route options with a range of difficulty levels. Use of the climbing wall is included in MCC memberships and daily passes.
Fitness center
The fitness center at the Monticello Community Center offers visitors top-notch fitness equipment and instruction. A full range of cardio equipment is available, along with:
• A large selection of free-weights
• Selectorized strength equipment
• Abdominal and stretching area The fitness center is for users 16 years and older and requires a membership or daily pass.
Indoor walking / jogging track One lap around the track equals 1 / 15th of a mile.
Romp‘ n Stomp
The newly upgraded Romp‘ n Stomp is a fun indoor play structure kids 12 and younger can climb up, slide down and have a great time exploring. The room includes other fun activities for kids and has space for parents to sit and watch. The play area is included with a Community Center membership, but for non-members, the cost is $ 5 for city residents and $ 6 for non-residents. Children 2 years and younger and adult caregivers are free.
Indoor ice arena
The Moose Sherritt Ice Arena is located on the east end of the Monticello Middle School on Highway 75( 800 Broadway St. E.) across from the hospital. The MCC offers free open skate sessions for members during scheduled times.
Gymnasium and leagues
The MCC’ s full-size gymnasium provides space for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and other indoor sports. Members and daily pass users can access the gym during scheduled open gym times, with no reservation required.
In addition to open play, the Community Center offers recreational sports leagues designed to keep adults active and connected. Current offerings include adult pickleball and adult flag football leagues, with opportunities to join a team or sign up as a free agent. League participation varies seasonally and provides a fun, low-pressure way to stay active while meeting others in the community..
