Monticello’ s municipal services at a glance
Utility billing
The city utility bill includes charges for sewer, water, and possible miscellaneous costs for water shut off and water turnon. The city sends utility bills monthly. Payment is always due on the first of the month. The monthly bills help residents discover leaks quickly and avoid high water use. It’ s also more convenient to receive and pay the bill every month, just like other common bills. The city also recently began offering two discounts to residents. Customers receive a $ 0.50 cent credit on every bill when they sign up for e-bills and another $ 1 credit on every bill when they sign up for ACH electronic payments. Additional payment options include cash, money order, check, credit card and online payments. A payment drop box is located just outside City Hall or there is a drive-up drop box located in the community center parking lot near the Sixth Street entrance.
