WEST
The book club offers a great variety of books for
all reading tastes which have been selected to
prompt lively book discussions. Book club is open
to all ages. The title for October is "The stone
diaries by Carol Shields". From her calamitous
birth in 1905, to her years as a wife, mother
and widow, Daisy Stone Goodwill struggled to
understand her place in life. Now in old age, Daisy
attempt to tell her story through a novel. She
listens, she observes, and, through sheer force of
imagination, she becomes a witness of her own
life.

RECYCLE DAY & CAR BOOT SALE
Recycling activities will be available at the Port
Hedland Turf Club and South Hedland Shopping
Centre (car boot sale at the Port Hedland Turf
Club only). If you would like to sell some of your
unwanted goodies at the car boot sale, contact
Care for Hedland.
A collaborative partnership between FORM and
IBN Corporation will present a series of paste
ups and multi media, launching as part of the
Marlbatharndu Wanggagu - Once Upon a Time in
the West exhibition. The project is an exploration
into the histories and stories of Aboriginal
people-stockmen, rural and domestic workers in
the Pilbara during the 20th century in Western
Australia with a focus on the experiences of
Banyjima, Innawonga and Nyiyaparli elders, and
people.
