Montgomery County is located on
the northern border of our nation’s
capital. The communities of Bethesda,
Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, Rockville,
Gaithersburg and Germantown are all
located within the boundaries of
Montgomery County. To the north
of Montgomery County you will find
Baltimore, to the east is Annapolis and
to our immediate south is Virginia.

The Capital Bikeshare offers thousands of

Three airports serve Montgomery County:
Ronald Reagan Washington National
Airport (DCA), 20 miles. Metrorail’s Red
Line connects the airport with Montgomery
County for easy transfers. Many hotels
provide shuttle service to and from Metro
stations. Washington Dulles International
Airport (IAD), 30 miles. Complete
shuttle and limousine service is available.
Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall
International Airport (BWI), 40 miles.
Car rentals, limousines and shuttles are
available. Note: Distance to airports are from
Rockville, Montgomery County’s Seat.
BY TRAIN
Amtrak: Intercity rail passengers service the
Union Station (Washington, D.C.) and BWI
Airport into Rockville Metro station, Hungerford
Drive and Park Street. Metrorail: 13 Red Line
stations serve Montgomery County, all leading
into Washington, D.C. For more information visit

truly comprehensive transportation system.
If you want to see the sites of Montgomery County
and Washington, D.C., hop on the Metro, one
of the most sophisticated mass transit subway
systems in the country. The Metro is clean, safe,
easy to use, very affordable and will get you to
the landmark or museum of your choice in
minutes. The same is true of the Metrobus system
which offers routes on every major thoroughfare.

Green Tomato Cars is a car service featuring
hybrid vehicles with free WiFi on board.
Barwood Taxi has served Montgomery County
since 1960, and features Verifone technology

has the largest fleet of sedans, SUV’s, limousines
and minibuses in the Washington D.C. area.
BY BUS
Vamoose Bus offers direct service to New
York City from downtown Bethesda.
BY WATER
White’s Ferry is the last ferry operating
on the Potomac River. It connects Leesburg,
Virginia to Montgomery County. The ferry
runs continuously, year round, from 5 a.m. to
11 p.m. Flooding and ice can close the ferry.

Route 7 West to Leesburg. Take Route 15
North. Make a right on Route 655/White’s
Ferry Road.
INTERCOUNTY CONNECTOR (ICC)
The Intercounty Connector (ICC) links
existing and proposed development areas
between the I-270/I-370 and I-95 corridors
within central and eastern Montgomery
County and northwestern Prince George’s
County with a state-of-the-art, multi-modal
east-west highway that limits access and
accommodates the movement of passengers
and goods. Passengers may access the ICC
with use of a pre-paid EZ-Pass. Further
