UK signals post-Brexit GO flows set to continue The UK will continue to recognise EU guarantees of origin ( GOs ) until at least January 2022 , which will alleviate downward pressure on the European market from oversupply this year and may further support prices , market participants said . “ Current legislation means the UK will continue to allow imports of EU GOs ,” said a spokesperson from the energy ministry . French industry may end up paying 30 % more for its power as part of nuclear industry reforms the country is negotiating with the European Commission , Frank Roubanovitch , president of industrial lobby group CLEEE , told Montel . The government is considering banning industrial consumers from buying nuclear power at its cheaper Arenh regulated rate , he said , citing an unnamed French official . “ The official said that the EC would not deviate from this idea for the sake of fair competition within Europe and the French government was ready to compromise as the talks have entered their final leg ,” he added . Roubanovitch was referring to talks between France and Brussels , in which the government wants to restructure state-owned EDF in return for allowing it to raise the Arenh rate at which it sell its nuclear power to competitors .
