�EO �����O�O , co-owner and head brewer at Montclair Brewery , recently took home the top prize on the �iscovery� show Moonshiners� Master �istillers after impressing the judges with his Bao Brandy .
Sawadogo used the fruit of the baobab tree to create amash that was then distilled . �ans of Montclair Brewery are familiar with this particular fruit , as Sawadogo often incorporates it in his beer . Heisoriginally from Burkina �aso , West Africa , where baobab trees flourish . �It ’ sahighly fermentable fruit , � says Sawadogo . �It ’ salso one of the most nutritious fruits in the world . It has so many vitamins . People usually use barley to make moonshine , but I wanted to do something different . �
His Bao Brandy will be distilled for alimited time at Sugarlands �istilling Co . in Tennessee . Because of New �ersey li�uor laws , Sawadogo says he can ’ tmake or sell the spirit at Montclair Brewery , but hopes to open adistillery in afew years so he can offer it there .

This month , you can spring-clean your book shelves and help raise money for scholarships at the same time . The nonprofit CO��E�E �O�EN�� C��� O� �ONTC���R�� ��R�N� �OO� ���E raises roughly �� scholarships of �2 , ��� each annually that go to area female high school graduates . This year , the sale begins March �� and ends April �� . When breast surgeon �r . Nancy Elliott began practicing in �989 , she observed that her ability to improve her patients ’ outcomes was directly related to how early she could treat their cancer . To make early detection and treatment as effective as possible , she founded the �ONTC���R �RE��T CENTER , where women can be seen by breast surgeons and receive genetic testing , diagnoses , and mammograms , ultrasound and MRI screening at a single location . With an emphasis on regular checkups , the results have been impressive : of the . ��� of established patients diagnosed with breast cancer last year , all were in Stage �or��early stages� of the disease .
Now Elliott is taking her novel �Breast �octors� model statewide . Montclair Breast Center has become part of the healthcare division of �enesis Biotechnology �roup , aprivate biotechnology and research company specializing inwomen ’ shealth , and Elliott is spearheading the company ’ s new clinical division of women ’ s healthcare . �We plan to expand the Breast Home concept by opening centers across the state of New �ersey , � she explained inaletter to patients . �This ... is the beginning of anew chapter . �
