Montclair
Two Montclair girl scouts received a sweet honor this
year: Their pictures are featured on boxes of girl scout
cookies being distributed nationwide. SAMIYAH
ABUBAKR and CHRISTEL BURRELL, both members of the
Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey chapter of the organiza-
tion, were chosen from thousands of applicants to grace
the packages. Samiyah appears on the new Lemon-Ups
cookie package, while Christel is featured on the Thin
Mints box. Christel (left in photo), a freshman at The
College of New Jersey in Ewing Township, was asked to
help with the younger girls during the photoshoot, and
ultimately became part of it.
Abubakr, a junior in high school, says, “I sent in my
photos without much belief that they would select me.
My acceptance makes me believe I am capable of
achieving many things.”

formances of Jersey Boys, the
insanely popular musical
about the Four Seasons that is
now the 12th longest-running
Broadway show in history. His
latest turn is a big one: He can
now be seen as Four Seasons
founding member Tommy DeVito in the Off-Broadway
production at New World Stages-Stage One in
Manhattan. Rochette knows a thing or two about Jersey
boys, being one himself; the East Hanover native attend-
ed Rutgers University, and now lives in North Caldwell.
