P
utting out a maga-
zine always involves
a dialogue between
editors and writ-
ers, and the reading
public we serve. And
that’s never truer for Montclair
Magazine than in our spring
Readers’ Choice issue. It would
be hard to determine
the businesses that
deliver for their
customers, the
restaurants that leave
diners craving more
and the services that
engender loyalty
without reader
feedback. To find
out the results of our annual poll,
just crack open this issue. You’ll
find beloved standbys and interest-
ing newcomers, side by side.
One new restaurant that’s
created a lot of positive buzz
is Kai Yang, the subject of our
Dining Out review (“Food to
Make a Thai Grandma Proud”).
But then how could it not succeed,
when it’s run by Former Spice
II chef/owner Sheree Sarabhaya,
with support from her son Luck
Sarabhayavanija, owner of Ani
Ramen?
Another newcomer to town
is the subject of our Neighbors
interview: Ted Wright, the direc-
tor of New York City’s Bicycle
and Greenway Program. In this
issue, we also introduce you to the
looks interior designers say will be
popular this year (“Home Trends:
Here’s what You’ll be Seeing in
2019”). And we give you a pre-
view of the stellar lineup slated
to appear at the third annual
Montclair Literary Festival.
There’s never too little to do in
the Montclair area, which is why
we appreciate the gate-keeping.
Readers’ Choice poll-takers:
We salute you. ■
