Not pictured: Wally Weikert, Family Service League BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE’S 150TH BIRTHDAY This winter’s Bloomfield College Sesquicentennial Gala netted over $650,000 in proceeds to be used for student scholarships, making the black-tie celebration the largest fundraising event in its history. Former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh C. Johnson (Hon. ’12) and Bill Whitaker of 60 Minutes and CBS News, both gala honorees, received Presidential Medals of Excellence from Bloomfield College president Richard A. Levao. Turner 44 SPRING 2019 MONTCLAIR MAGAZINE GRABOWSKY/PARTNERS Partners for Health Foundation celebrated the organization’s ten-year anniversary by awarding $100,000 to local individuals and organizations who make a significant contribution to the Montclair community. Recipients included the KinderSmile Foundation of Bloomfield, Connections at Home of Verona and Adele Katz of Sister to Sister, the mentoring non-profit group.
