W
ith its large
publishing
community,
avid readers
and proxim-
ity to New York, Montclair is
the ideal place for launching
a literary festival — which
is just what local nonprofit
Succeed2gether did last
spring. This year’s events
extend from March 15-18.
Saturday, March 17, features
book talks, author signings,
panel discussions, and kids’
activities at the Montclair
public Library. On Sunday,
writers’ workshops will be
followed by a 5 p.m. talk
and performance by author/
rocker Patti Smith.
Here, we list a sampling
of the (mostly free)
highlights planned for the
four-day festival. For a full
list, visit succeed2gether.
org. Montclair State
University is the festival’s
main sponsor. Its venue
partners are Montclair
Public Library, Montclair
Art Museum and the First
Congregational Church.
Watchung Booksellers will
manage all book sales and
signings. Unless otherwise
noted, events take place at
the First Congregational
Church, 40 S. Fullerton Ave.
in Montclair.
