CHANGING THE NOTES
When moving from one room to the next , Suvalsky says he “ tries to change the notes . The dining room has the same color scheme , but it ’ s warmed up a little .” The rug , he points out , is less bright , allowing the dark-wood table and hutch , both antiques original to the area , to command more attention . The homeowners have an impressive art collection , he says , so the paintings displayed on the walls , usually modern in style , change from time to time . The fixture ’ s drum shade , in place of individual shades for the lights , lends a touch of the modern . The table is a reproduction of a Spanish design from the 18th century .
