UNCHARTED TERRITORY
It ’ s not every day that Spider-Man walks into a movie theater . But that ’ s what happened in late February at the South Orange Performing Art Center ’ s Cinema Lab Theatre when TOM HOLLAND popped into a screening of his movie , Uncharted .
Cinema Lab , a Montclair-based developer of community cinemas run by residents Vincent Onorati , producer Luke Parker Bowles , and actor Patrick Wilson and others , was hosting a family and friends screening of the new movie for its director , Ruben Fleischer , who recently moved to Montclair . Fleischer invited Holland , who famously plays Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe , to stop by . So Holland made the trip to South Orange and helped Fleischer introduce Uncharted , which grossed $ 44 million domestically during its opening weekend .
There is another Cinema Lab Theater in Colorado , and one is coming to Bradley Beach on the Jersey Shore . “ We are all part of the local creative community , and we want to help that flourish ,” Onorati says . “ And if we can bring some famous friends to town , even better .”

PASTARAMEN SLATED TO OPEN IN JUNE
It ’ s so close , we can almost taste the Ramen alle Vongole . Pasta Ramen , a collaboration between Ani Ramen owner Luck Sarabhayavanija and Robbie Felice ( Viaggio , Osteria Crescendo ) is expected to open its doors in June , according to Felice . The restaurant ’ s progress and ultimate look have been kept under wraps for many months , in the spirit of the duo ’ s secretive invitation-only pop-ups of the same name that preceded it .
“ I love telling New Jersey people to imagine if Viaggio had a baby with Ani Ramen ,” Felice says , which he admits didn ’ t help clueless Miami patrons when his pop-ups opened there in January . So , more specifically , here ’ s what diners can expect tosee on the menu : a mingling of Japanese and Italian ingredients and flavors in antipasti , appetizers and small plates including Cacio e Pepe Gyoza , ramen without broth , larger entrees and a “ showstopper dessert .”
“ Wafu Italian , which means ‘ In the style of Japanese Italian ,’ is a trend that will keep growing and get bigger ,” says Felice . “ And we ’ re excited about the design inside the restaurant .
