Just as Montclair Film has come a long way over the
past decade, so has 505 Bloomfield Ave., the building
that’s home to the organization. In 2015, the structure
was donated to MF (then still called the Montclair
Film Festival) by Investors Bank. Bob Silver and the
Bravitas Group brought together architect Paul
Sionas, contractor Jack Finn and designer Rachael
Grochowski to gut and remodel the building to
its current glory; a two-year campaign raised over
$2 million in capital to cover the transformation.
Today, the Investors Bank Film and Media Center
houses a screening and party space, a media lab and
storytelling studio, a box office and classroom – and,
in the first floor lounging area, a bank vault left over
from its previous incarnation.
