The Montclair Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to college-bound Montclair High School seniors with financial need, held its Mardi Gras Gala in February. The non-profit awards 30-40 scholarshipsannually.

Writers and the readers who love them gathered to drink, dine and enjoy jazz at the second annual Montclair Literary Festival Meet the Authors party. The soiree was held at the First Congregational Church immediately after the“ Sex, Schools and Suburbia” panel featuring best-selling author Tom Perrotta. One of the few ticketed events of the festival, it supported non-profit Succeed2gether’ simportant efforts to close the community’ s education achievement gap.
