HERE COMES THE BRIDAL
ATELIER
Before the walk
down the aisle,
it’s worth a stroll
up Valley Road’s
main commercial
block to peruse
BRIDAL ATELIER
MONTCLAIR, a
new full service
bridal boutique.
The shop carries an assortment of gowns,
veils and headpieces from American
and European designers; appointments
are one-on-one. Owner Rachel Sweebe
worked for more than 20 years as a
designer in New York and Italy’s fashion
industries. She says that after creating her
own wedding gown, she was compelled
to do the same for others, and began
accepting private clients for custom
bridal and evening gowns. Designers
including Capodoro, Amy Kuschel and
Claire Pettibone produce their gowns
and accessories “in-house” in either the
U.S. or the designer’s country of origin,
allowing great flexibility to customize
and rush orders. 623 Valley Road,

basketball player dribbling his way
across our spring issue back page. “The
basketball player in the picture is James
Hannah,” she writes. “He graduated in
1968. Credit given to my aunt Susan who
went to MHS.” Susan (Levine) Morley
grew up in Montclair, she says, and now
lives in Flagstaff, Ariz., adding, “My family
has a loooong history in Montclair.”
