PARTNERS IN EDUCATION
BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE is partnering with the EAST ORANGE HOUSING AUTHORITY to create clear pathways to college for EOHA-assisted students at the college.“ I hope this partnership demonstrates how powerful these relationships between colleges and local organizations can be to provide access to life-changing educational experiences to the youth of our county and state,” says Adam Castro, vice president for Enrollment Management. Bloomfield College will also offer current and active EOHA employees a 25 percent tuition reduction on full-time undergraduate, parttime undergraduate and graduate tuition rates. The partnership with Bloomfield College was inspired by EOHA’ s new community development campaign,“ Building Homes, Changing Lives.” The first series of scholarships was awarded at the kickoff event of the campaign, the Diamond Jubilee Gala, on March 29.

JUST FLOAT AWAY
You’ ve floated in water before, but probably not like this— inan 8-foot by 5-foot, soundand light-proof pod, immersed in 10 inches of water that’ s saturated with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. And you may be thinking“ Why would I?” The answer is that in addition to having the unique sensation of being suspended, the health benefits associated with the experience include stress and pain reduction, improved sleep and boosted concentration. Athletes who’ ve partaken of the float experience include Steph Curry and Tom Brady, say Rob and Marrouwa McDonald, who recently opened SALT FLOAT CENTER in Montclair. Guests can soak in the Float Suite, which resembles a room within a room, as well as the Float Orb( pictured here).“ Our Orb was originally shipped to Tom Brady of the New England Patriots,” says Rob.“ I had the manufacturer re-rout it to us even though it had already madeitall the way to Boston. Itwas funny because when I called to schedule delivery, FedEx Freight asked if I was Tom Brady.” Single sessions of 60-120 minutes are priced at $ 80- $ 125. Membership fees for 90-minute floats run from once monthly for $ 90 to four per month for $ 275. • 149 Valley Road,( 201) 574-SALT( 7258), saltfloatcenter. com
