Allergies and asthma affect millions of people each year. Seasonal
allergies, asthma, sinus disease and immune system disorders can
disrupt one’s quality of life, and can even become life-threatening at
times. Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food
allergies, and the number of children suffering from food-related
allergies is growing every day.
Enter “Sneeze Doctor” David A. Fost, M.D., a third-generation
physician following in the steps of his grandfather, William Fost, M.D.
and his father, Arthur Fost, M.D., with whom he shares a practice with
state-of-the-art offices in Verona and Sparta.
Dr. Fost made the decision to specialize in allergy-related illnesses
because he wanted to make an impact on people suffering from
potentially life-threatening problems. “Helping someone who suffers
from asthma and allergies and getting their problem under control so
they can return to a normal, happy life is a most rewarding fe eling,”
explains Dr. Fost. One of his greatest strengths as a physician is his
ability to see the clinical picture from the patient’s point of view and to
implement a treatment plan from an empathetic and practical per-
spective. He prides himself on the compassion, care and concern that
his practice shows to every one of their patients – a practice built on
dignity and respect.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of Dr. Fost’s career is his work with
children. “Especially with the increase in food allergies, children seem
to be hit the hardest,” states Top Doctor Fost. “Helping them get

rewarding and fun.”
Only through rigorous
study and training could
one attain the level of success that Dr. Fost has achieved. He received
his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the Alfred I. DuPont Pediatric
Prize for “the student whose performance best demonstrates the
qualities of academic and clinical excellence, human compassion and
commitment to the welfare of others.” Following came his internship
and residency at the University of Wisconsin Children’s Hospital; he
then spent one year teaching clinical pediatrics at the Gloucestershire
Royal Hospital in Gloucester, England. Dr. Fost completed a fellowship
in allergy/immunology at the internationally recognized National
Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado. It is the
only medical and research center in the U.S. devoted entirely to
respiratory, allergic and immune system diseases.
As a frequent lecturer on asthma and allergy topics, Dr. Fost shares
his real life experiences and knowledge with medical students and
residents. He has received numerous accolades and awards in
his field.
