CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES , COME ON
Students at Glenfield School have something to singabout : the KOOL KIDS FOUNDATION — the nonprofitfounded by Robert “ Kool ” Bell , leader of Grammy-winners Kool & the Gang and his late wife , Sakinah Bell — donated $ 25,000 to the Glenfield School PTA in August . The funds were raised at the foundation ’ s Celebrity Golf Tournament Fundraiser , held in July at Cedar Hill Country Club in Livingston . Proceeds from that event will be used to purchase instruments and support music education . The Malcolm X Shabazz High School Marching Band in Newark alsoreceived agrant from the foundation , which is currently led byBell along with his sons , group president Hakim [“ Can ’ t Stop the Music ,” May2021 ] and vicepresident Muhammad . — CINDY SCHWEICH HANDLER

CHIP CITY — aNYC-foundeddessert chain that ’ s been serving theregion ’ s “ ooiest and gooeist ” cookies since 2017 — is coming to Church Street . The colossal treats feature crispy exteriors wrapped around soft , ( almost ) underbaked interiors . The flavors vary from week to week ; some exciting ones from the past include s ’ mores , banana pudding and triple chocolate . Currently , Chip City has three other New Jersey locations , in Ridgewood , Hoboken and Newark . Its new Montclair location is the fourth — and latest — iterationof the company in the Garden State . When @ northjerseyeats readers were asked to name the best cookies in Jersey , Chip City ranked among the top five responses . Soon , Montclair residents won ’ t have to go fartoknow what all the flavorful fuss is about .
