ANTHROPOLOGIE AS ART GALLERY
For roughly two
months this fall,
there will be
another reason to
visit Montclair’s
ANTHROPOLOGIE
store besides the
need to buy stylish
clothes and
housewares:
Montclairian
CARRIE EMMA PRADIEU will be the store’s
“resident artist.” Pradieu’s large abstract paintings,
which were inspired by India, feature seasonal
shades of red, orange and yellow mixed with gold.

JAZZ HOUSE KIDS TURNS 15
OCTOBER
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since this Montclair institution
was launched — maybe because we can’t imagine the music scene in
this town without them. To celebrate their legacy, JHK is throwing a
gala on Oct. 24 at NJPAC in Newark. The 5:30 p.m. cocktail reception
will be followed by a star-studded concert at 7 p.m. featuring multiple Grammy
award-winning saxophonist DAVID SANBORN; trailblazing percussionist SHEILA E.;
keyboard prodigy MATTHEW WHITAKER (pictured here), and many more. The night
will be capped off with a Gala Celebration Dinner. NJPAC: 1 Center St., Newark,

LIFE IN
PARADISE
In this
Luna Stage
production,
a Muslim-
American Bronx
teenager and her
mysterious high
school biology
teacher form an unlikely
partnership that is shaken
by conflicts over religion,
science and mentorship. It was
written by LAURA MARIA
CENSABELLA, and features
GRANT SHAUD a frequent
stage performer perhaps best
known for his role on the
TV show Murphy Brown;
actress LILY BALSEN co-stars.
Paradise runs from Nov. 2-19.
