SALANDRA, a senior at James Caldwell High school in West Caldwell; and JACQUELINE SMITH,
a senior at Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell. The recipients of the awards were recog-
nized for their outstanding work volunteering for causes such as preventing malaria transmission,
educating the public about the need for organ donation, and helping a local first aid squad. In
recognition of their efforts, each received a $500 scholarship and a commemorative certificate.

Why hasn’t there been a
furniture and home décor
showroom in Upper
Montclair until now, and why
has there never been a store
named MODCLAIR? Verona
resident Anthony Corona
and his business partner,
Bhojnarine Ramnarine, solve
both problems with their
new place. “We carry a wide
variety of furniture, rugs and
lighting for many different
aesthetics,” Corona says.
“Modern, contemporary,
industrial, Hollywood
Regency, transitional, tradi-
tional, midcentury.” Home
accessories, wallpaper, art,
lighting and memorabilia are
also available. The partners
work with many trade-only
brands as well, and provide
free design services to
clients. 547 Valley Road,
