Dr . Tyra Manso is aboard-certified pediatric dentist and local mom , which has turned out to be awinning combination . Perennial winner of Montclair Magazine ’ s Top Pediatric Dentist award , New Jersey Family ’ s Favorite Kid ’ sDoc , and recognized in the Best of Essex : Reader ’ sChoice Awards by Suburban Essex , Dr . Manso has tapped into what makes her young patients most comfortable with dental care .
She was involved in every facet of designing and opening her office ; consequently , itiscompletely digital , state-of-the-art , bright and open . “ We are one hundred percent in the future ; patients appreciate that everything is fresh and brand-new . Imade the office as comfortable as possible . It ’ svery creative with lots of art and clouds .” She wants children to want to come to the dentist . “ We ’ re passionate about changing the stigma of dentistry for children . We are super-focused on the child and their overall health . We have incorporated amindfulness practice and awellness initiative , which our patients love .”
The first part of the wellness initiative focuses on prevention . “ If you focus on preventive care , you might never have to worry about the rest of it ; it is alifestyle change .” Dr . Manso advises , “ The earlier you bring kids in , the better association they will have with the office . Iadvise to start as soon as achild has teeth . That way you have anticipatory guidance . It is agreat way to introduce how important oral health is . Two other important parts of the wellness initiative are : advice on how to provide an anti-anxiety dental home experience ; and setting families up for a successful daily home care routine where kids have autonomy .” Dr . Manso received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry , where she was trained in behavior management . She is a member of the American Dental Association , the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry , the New Jersey Dental Association , and the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry . She keeps up with the latest research procedures and trends as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry .
She lives in Montclair with her husband and son and is very involved in the community , supporting local organizations and businesses . She is a Board Member of Hackensack Meridian Health Mountainside Medical Center . Dr . Manso enjoys touring local schools and teaching how oral health can be fun . Additionally , she has provided free dental care to underserved children both internationally and domestically as a medical mission volunteer .
