DR. PAUL L. DIONNE’S EXPERTISE IN THE TREATMENT OF OBSTRUCTIVE
SLEEP APNEA IS REFLECTED IN THE NEW NAME OF HIS PRACTICE,
GLEN RIDGE DENTAL ARTS & NORTH JERSEY DENTAL SLEEP MEDICINE.
A member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine — where he is a
Qualified dentist and in the process of becoming a Diplomat — and the American
Sleep and Breathing Academy, Dr. Dionne utilizes oral appliance therapy to treat
snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
This non-invasive treatment option is a dental oral appliance that looks like
a sports mouth guard and is worn only during sleep, supporting the jaw in a
forward position to help maintain an open upper airway. It fits seamlessly into
patients’ lifestyles and is seen as an effective alternative to the continuous positive
airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, which involves sleeping with a facemask
connected by tubing to a constantly running machine. “Treating snoring or sleep
apnea with oral appliance therapy can help you feel like a new person,” Dr.
Dionne noted on his website.
A similar commitment to patient service is exhibited in all aspects of dental care.
Dr. Dionne takes great pride in creating a beautiful smile in the span of a few
weeks. “I love helping people feel better about their smiles and ultimately about
themselves,” said Dr. Dionne.
He added that building long-term relationships with patients is important. “I’m
unique in that I schedule one patient at a time,” he said. “Patients see me from
the start to finish of their treatments.”
His family-focused dental practice has served the Glen Ridge and Montclair
area for over 60 years, with Dr. Dionne heading the practice for over 25 years.
Comfort and convenience are the hallmarks of his office operations, as Dr.
Dionne and his staff are dedicated to helping patients achieve the highest level
of dental health possible with maximum comfort, compassion, function and
esthetics.
Dr. Dionne has implemented treatment protocols and business practices not
found elsewhere, all while providing exemplary patient care. It’s what makes
him a top dentist. He has advanced training and considerable experience in
reconstructive dentistry and is an expert in cosmetic dentistry. He advocates that
overall good health begins in the mouth. The goal is to help patients preserve
their natural teeth as long as possible and to ensure oral health.
Dr. Dionne uses advanced dental technology to help ward off dental issues. He
often shares with patients the high-definition images he obtains with an intraoral
camera to underscore preventive practices. When deciding on a treatment, he
provides patients with a full facially-generated plan. He explains, “It’s going
beyond examining the teeth and addressing the esthetics of the smile. I evaluate
the smile line and lip support, the muscles and mastication.” The underlying
cause of a dental problem is addressed, not merely the problem the patient
presents. The plan is a tenet of Spear Education, an organization that promotes
continuing education for dentists dedicated to the pursuit of clinical excellence.
