“AS A CHEF, PEOPLE TRUST US WITH SOMETHING AS INTIMATE
AS THE FOOD THEY EAT. WITH THAT RESPONSIBILITY, WE NEED
TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE KITCHEN
AS IF LIVES DEPENDED ON IT, BECAUSE THEY DO.”
KWAME WILLIAMS
GOOD AS IT LOOKS The salmon burger bowl with mixed greens and mango salad makes a
satisfying meal.
Why do you feel it’s important
to introduce healthy food to
children at school? From the time
we’re introduced to food at a young
age, we begin to create habits. The
earlier we can start to create healthy
eating habits, the better. It will have
a positive outcome on so many
different aspects of life.
What do you do in your
spare time when you’re not
cooking/inspiring the public to
eat healthier? Other than just
spending time with my family, I’m a
big movie fan. On days off, I love to
catch some of the lesser-known films
playing at the Clairidge. Or take
a walk with my camera in hand;
I’m really into the visual arts.
What are your favorite places
to eat in the Montclair area?
My current rotation consists of
Spice ll Thai, Mesob, MishMish,
The Corner, with plans to try
Laboratorio, the new Street Mexican
place, along with Bluff City BBQ. n
