PHILIP ECHO CHOSE A CAREER in dentistry instead where he could use his creativity to help relieve pain and illness. During dental school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Echo had the opportunity to experience different specialty rotations and became captivated with the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He subsequently went on to receive his specialty degree from the University Hospital in New Jersey. In an ongoing effort to provide the best possible care, Dr. Echo is increasing his staff from four to six. The practice maintains the latest in technology and has added a 3D dental cone beam scanner offering a state-of-the-art way to plan out various types of surgeries including implants ensuring less risk and a better final outcome. Dr. Echo and his staff place a tremendous amount of energy into superior service and the whole patient experience. A state, national and international awardwinning photographer, Dr. Echo showcases his artistic talent by displaying over 85 images throughout the office. Each wall represents a collage of a different subject including nature walls, pattern walls and even a 9/11 Memorial. “Art is a great escape from the rigors of everyday life. It gives me great pleasure to share my photography as a way to calm and relax patients or simply reach out to those who appreciate art,” adds Dr. Echo. “I particularly enjoy having past patients come by to see my photos and catch up with families and old friends.” Formerly in a practice in Montclair, Dr. Echo is now in a solo practice at The Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Implantology in Nutley, NJ. “Having grown up in Nutley, it is a pleasure to practice in a town that is near and dear to me.” In addition, Dr. Echo is on staff at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. Over the course of his career, Dr. Echo was on staff at Mountainside Hospital and served as Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for over 10 years. Because of the emphasis on patient satisfaction, the majority of the practice comes through patient referrals. “I never lose sight of all those individuals who have put their trust in my practice over the years and I thank you for your continued confidence in our work. Nothing is more gratifying than to relieve someone’s pain or suffering. It is an honor and a privilege to work wi th our patients and their families,” remarks Dr. Echo.
