When Landscape Guild owner/operators
Lisa Mierop and Frank Contey decided to tie
the knot this past June, they knew where to
find the perfect garden backdrop: The residence of Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson
and his wife,
Susan DiMarco,
which they’d
designed and
tended for many
years. We featured the landscapers’ handiwork in our
Holiday 2013 issue (“Home for the Holidays”),
and are thrilled to share an image from their
summer wedding, at which longtime friend
Secretary Johnson officiated. “Susan and I
agreed to host Frank and Lisa’s wedding
because Lisa herself has done so much to
make our home a special and beautiful place,”
he says. “Plus, I’ve always wanted to do a
backyard wedding, but my daughter was an
emphatic no. She is now off the hook.”
