LIKE THEIR FOUNDERS OVER 75 YEARS AGO, THE PHYSICIANS AT MONTCLAIR RADIOLOGY
continue to set the bar high and lead the way in full-service diagnostic
imaging. The first clinical facility in America to use MRI in diagnostic
imaging, Montclair Radiology is physician-owned and is a recognized leader
in the field of Radiology. Montclair Radiology is accredited by the American
College of Radiology both as an overall Center of Excellence and as a Breast
Imaging Center of Excellence.
Montclair Radiology prides itself on its state-of-the-art equipment, including
3D tomosynthesis mammography which creates 1 millimeter thick slices of
breast tissue that can help detect up to 41% more cancers, multidetector CT
scanners that utilize ultra low-dose radiation, as well as shorter and wider
MRIs that reduce patient anxiety and claustrophobia. These endeavors have
consistently kept Montclair Radiology at the forefront of radiologic imaging.
As part of the MRA team, Dr. Denise McFadden focuses much of her practice
on breast imaging. With formal training in body imaging, Dr. McFadden most
enjoys interacting with her patients. “Some of the procedures we do can cause
stress and anxiety. I strive to talk to my patients to keep them informed and at
ease,” states Dr. McFadden. “In our continued drive for improving women’s
health, we now offer mammography parties where a minimum of four
women can come together for their mammograms, support one another, and
enjoy snacks and a massage therapist. It’s a great way to encourage yearly
exams.” Dr. McFadden is particularly proud to offer patients Stereotactic
Biopsy which is a less invasive way to obtain tissue samples needed for
diagnosis. This procedure requires less recovery time than a surgical biopsy,

and there is no significant scarring to the breast.
Dr. McFadden’s extensive training began with a medical degree from Jefferson
Medical College and an internship at St. Barnabas Medical Center. This was
followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and
Medical Center where she was Chief Resident. Dr. McFadden then completed
a fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at the NYU Medical Center where she
was Clinical Assistant Professor in Radiology.
Dr. Michael Pollack specializes in orthopedic and sports-related injuries with a
special interest in musculoskeletal radiology. He received a medical degree
from NYU followed by an internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York.
Dr. Pollack then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology as Chief
Resident at NYU Medical Center. Following his formal training at NYU, Dr.
Pollack completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the NYU
Langone Medical Center and Hospital for Joint Disease.
A strong advocate of technological advancements in radiology, Dr. Pollack
specializes in developing protocols to lower radiation exposure from medical
imaging. “Making a difficult diagnosis correctly that will have a significant
impact on a patient’s life without causing any harm is the most rewarding
part of this profession,” states Dr. Pollack.
All 14 of the Montclair Radiology physicians are on staff at Chilton
Memorial Hospital where they provide a wide range of radiology services as
they do in their offices in Montclair, Nutley, West Caldwell, and Verona.
