The East End has long been a preferred spot for writ-
ers so a night’s celebration of all things literary seems
extremely appropriate. This year the East Hampton Li-
brary offers AUTHORS NIGHT on August 12. That Sat-
urday join the ever-present Alec Baldwin and his lovely
wife, Hilaria, as they host the literary event of the sea-
son. Writers expected to attend include Alan Alda, Dick
Cavett, Jeffrey Lyons, Molly Haskell and many more.
The evening begins at 5pm with a reception under
the grand tent at 4 Maidstone Lane, just around the
corner from the Library. Guests can meet and mingle
with over 100 of their favorite authors, buy their books
and enjoy a summers sunset. At 7:30 the authors leave
for dinners at private homes to be joined by selected
guests. An intimate, indelible, unique opportunity re-
ception tickets are $100 with private dinner tickets be-
gin at $225. To buy your’s drop by the Library at 159
