Bugatti’s Virtual Car Becomes a Reality
The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo
concept car has its roots in the
famous racing game Gran Turismo, the result of a competition
to design “virtual” cars to compete in Gran Turismo 6.
At the 2015 Frankfurt Show a real-life version of the Vision Gran
Turismo car made its surprise appearance, and word has it that a
very similar car will form the basis of the successor to the Bugatti
Veyron, possibly to debut at the
2016 Geneva Show less than six
months from now. The design of
the car is said to be inspired by
the Type 57 G that won the Le
Mans 24 Hour race in 1937. The colour scheme of this new show car
was also inspired by that famous
race-winning Bugatti.
The Veyron uses a W-16
quad-turbo engine and holds
the Guinness World record
for production cars with a

top speed of over 400km/h.
The new car, expected to be
known as the Chiron, is expected to be even quicker! In real
life the Vision displays plenty of
race heritage in its shape, especially towards the rear of the
car with evidence of special
down-force-inducing devices.
