Key information for residents and our commitment  owering the Benefit Cap from L 26k to 23k per year in London (20k outside of London) We’ll work with you to see if you’re entitled to a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) and work with Local Authorities to check on the availability of DHP payments We’ll work closely with our Community Development team to help you get back into work – which is a way of being exempt from the cap.  o automatic entitlement N to Housing Benefit (HB) for 18-21 year olds. This age group will be expected to participate in a programme of support e.g. apprenticeship or work-placed programme. Again we’ll work with our Community Development Team to help you into apprenticeships and work-placed programmes.  Housing Benefit will be frozen from April 2016, along with both child and working tax credits and a number of working age benefits, including job seekers allowance, employment support allowance, income support and child benefit Providing good quality budgeting advice is key – so if you’re struggling, give the Money Matters Team a call and we’ll help.  rom April 2016, Housing F Benefit claims will be backdated for a maximum of four weeks.
