1. Look for “off-season” destinations. Traveling to a common summer destination in the winter is a great way to see a new place without the crowds and high prices that accompany traveling at the same time as everyone else.

Planning a winter getaway?

Follow these tips to have a great time without breaking the bank.

4. Come to the SMMC for a coaching session to create your getaway budget. We can help you make sure that you have a great trip without coming home to $0.00 in your bank.

3. Look for free attractions. Often you’ll be able to find “free days” or special deals on entertainment by going on weekdays instead of weekends. You can also save money by avoiding the big attractions and experiencing a city like the locals do. Visiting local parks and markets instead of the big name attractions can provide for a cheaper and more authentic experience.

2. Consider all of your housing options. Hotels aren’t the only place to stay; websites like AirBnb offer affordable options and give you the chance to meet locals who know all of the best spots in town.
