SPECIAL CONTRIBUTOR Student Activities Center
Want to join other students and perform traditional drumming and dance from a multitude of African cultures? Interested in joining a fraternity or sorority? How about joining a Def College Jam group of students with a shared interested in comedy? UNT offers countless opportunities – including more than 400 student organizations – to get involved.
Here are 3 tips on finding your niche.
1: Start by getting involved in 2 student organizations: one related to your major and another related to a hobby or interest. We have 425+ orgs, searchable by key word or category (e.g., creative/performing arts, religious/spiritual) in our database.
2: Don’t have time to get involved in student orgs? The next best thing is to attend events. Between org and university-planned events, there’s something happening on campus daily. There are several campus calendars, including UNT, Student Activities, and UPC. Most activities are free for students.
3: If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact Student Activities to set up a 1-on-1 Involvement Advising appointment, during which we’ll walk through opportunities based on your interests. From community service to sports to adventure trips and more, there’s something for you!
