SMMC Financial
Readiness Program
Tabling Events:
Students take advantage of fun, engaging activities learning about money management at various sites across both the main campus and Discovery Park.
Classroom Presentations:
Allow the center to collaborate with our academic affairs colleagues. Topics, content, and length of presentation are pre-determined by instructors to allow center expertise and knowledge to complement curriculum.
Campus-wide Events:
Events on both the main campus and Discovery Park that present money management-related information to students in fun, relaxed, and engaging ways.
Orientation Sessions: Educational presentations during freshmen, transfer, graduate students, and parent orientation sessions to help students start their college experience money strong.
Resource Fairs:
Provide students with opportunities to interface with team members face-to-face. Resource fairs are scheduled throughout the academic year serving both the general student body and special student populations.
Workshops:
Allow students to apply theory learned in a classroom setting to their own personal financial lives. Workshops present both general and topic-specific content.
The UNT Student Money Management Center created its Financial Readiness Program to reach out to the university’s diverse student body and campus community. Since the SMMC opened our doors in 2005, we have served 96,010 students and held 1,600 outreach programs.
