The Rothschild Family

The Roth-schild family's banking dynasty was started by

Mayer Amschel Rothschild, who was born on Feb, 23, 1744 at the Free Imperial city of Frankfurt. He became a principal international banker to Wilhelm IX in the early 19th century. Aside from his own success, in 1798, he sent his third-born son Nathan Mayer Rothschild to England to expand the business. Nathan became a naturalized citizen in 1804 and found a bank in the city of London.
