If you have the academic qualifications to enter Monash University but require a slight boost in your English language and academic skills, the Monash English ' s 10-week program is for you.
This program will not only improve your language skills but will help you to achieve academic success in your course of study. Upon successful completion of the program and subject to meeting the minimum English requirements set by the Malaysian government, you ' ll gain direct entry into selected Monash degrees.
This compact 10-week program introduces the nuts and bolts of academic literacy needed for academic work and rigour. It is specially designed to equip you with the necessary academic skills to meet the English language standards required for your chosen course.

Course schedule
What skills will you develop?
• Advanced reading skills that will enable you to critically read and evaluate academic texts such as journal articles and scholarly texts.
• Effective listening and note-taking skills which will assist in understanding spoken texts on a variety of current issues.
• Strategies to understand, apply and explain relevant theories in your destination course.
• Research skills, including strategies to search, filter and evaluate a variety of online and print texts to obtain credible and reliable information.
• Communicate effectively in social conversations, academic discussions and deliver presentations.
• Ability to write reflective essays and research reports which are the required genres of writing in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Monash University.

TOTAL OF 200 HOURS
You will be tested on Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking skills in the last week.
