Southern California may have beautiful weather
year-round, but summer will still always be our
favorite season here at Monarch Beach Resort.
With myriad outdoor activities to take part in at
the resort and throughout the city of Dana Point,
there are seemingly endless ways to enjoy the sun-
shine and fresh air.
If you’re looking for a way to get your exercise
and see the surrounding area from a different per-
spective, simply download the RunGo app and try
out the special routes created by our director of spa
and wellness. We are proud to be the first hotel in
the nation to partner with RunGo in order to offer
our guests a unique way to tour this coastal para-

and find out how you, too, can run like a local.
After you’ve completed your workout, reward
yourself with a taste of AVEO Table + Bar’s
now-famous Nutella Crunch French Toast, which
was featured on the Hallmark Channel earlier this
year. Dig into the acclaimed rendition on the res-
taurant’s brunch menu and also learn how to make
it at home with the full recipe on page 10. But AVEO isn’t the only must-try eatery; the new
Bourbon Steak Orange County, A Michael Mina Restaurant is now open for business. In this
issue, we’ll introduce you to Bryan Brown, the executive chef of this renowned hot spot that was
voted Orange County’s best restaurant shortly after its grand opening (page 42).
As we bring in the new, we must also give homage to those who have worked
on-property since before we even opened our doors. Turn to page 26 for a behind-the-scenes
look at the inner workings of the resort through the eyes of some of our most loyal employees.
