. Brought in the first plan of the consciousness,
amazing transforms appear then in the entire
universe of his being. Found under the prayer
power and abandoned to the Supreme
Willpower, the adorer can remark miraculous
healing of the body or physical, purifications of
the emotional body, disappearance of almost
all the cause which generates suffering which
previously were countless, some of them being
even unconscious.
The prayer is the one which make us better, to
believe in the power which is in us besides us
meaning in God. “The Simeon Saint New
Theologian was saying that only a body cannot
be aware about the grace which exists in him”,
so the prayer is in all of us. Scientifically
speaking it has been seen that when a person is
praying, in his conscious are producing certain
changes both at the mental level and at the
physical, emotional or energetic level. For
example, the scientist and laureate of the
Nobel Prize (1912), Dr. Alexis Carrel (1873-1944),
great surgeon and French biologist known in
the blood vessels and organ transplant domain
recognizes that the healing power by prayer,
writing a famous essay on this theme with the
title “Prayer”. This paper having his scientific
experience, studies performed on his patients
from all over the world, of different jobs, social
class and religions, observations gathered over
his impressive career. In this paper he tries to
emphasize also the fact that the mankind
should focus on spirituality as well as on
intelligence and material plan, aiming to
establish an equilibrium. He was saying that
“The human needs God as he needs oxygen”. I
tend to think that everything has started in 1902
when he’s the witness of a healing in Lourdes, of
a women who was named Marie Bailly.
Although skeptical he could not explain this
healing scientifically and not even in front of the
newspapers he did not want to take into
discussion a supernatural healing. Can this
happening be a beginning in his researches? I
think that each study on this theme has a
beginning!
Also, Mr. Harold G. Koening, director at Duke’s
Center for Spirituality who wrote various books
about Religion and Health, speaks about faith,
healing and prayer.
He says that a prayer is the one who helps a lot
of the patients, being the one who gives them
strength in critical situations.
The integration of the prayer and of the spiritual
practice in patients’ daily life, habits and
behavior has led both to an improvement of
physical and mental health, all this statements
having as basis over 1500 studies.
Dr. Koening and Candy Gunther Brown,
teacher of religious studies at the University of
Indiana and author of the “Testing Prayer
Science and Healing” paper speak about the
patient who have audio and visual problems
and which after a short period of time after
they have started to pray, have observed
significant improvements on patients on which
they have performed the study. Dr. Koening
sustains that the ones who are more optimistic,
less depressive, have a better immunity system,
the blood pressure is low, the cardiovascular
system functioning better and also the suicide
rate being much more lower. All these studies
How can you evolve and reach a more
profound spiritual conscious level?
Once you realize that any material good does
not help to reach such a divine state and that
your soul needs peace, happiness, fulfillment
etc. things which you find in prayer, meditation
and contemplation of God, then you will
understand that the material part is helpful only
to the body and not to the soul, a truth which
was sustained by Platon: “The human who,
over life, did not say goodbye to all the
pleasures and body adornments, which he
considered alien to him and harmful, the
human who, on the contrary, apply himself to
learn something, which, instead of alien
adornments, wanted for his soul the true
adornments: temperance and justice has to
have confidence in his soul lightning.”
(Phaidon, Humanitas Publishing House, 2006, p.
139 – 140). An important accent is imposed by
the abbot Paisie on prayer and its spiritual
depth and not least sending the message that
it exists in each being. We have the mission to
find the path in our way to prayer and God
