Hello!
We have had a really low key few weeks, which was very welcome! Lauren has been feeling good. Lots of energy. We are about half way through this phase of treatment which includes 4 separate hospital stays every 2 weeks. The first stay was 9 days. The second stay was 4 days and we are starting her third stay this week. Hoping it is uneventful and quick. Lauren's counts were decent this week so I felt comfortable taking her to Publix early in the morning one morning this week after I dropped her sister off at school. She sat in her stroller and it was the first time in 5 months that I have taken her anywhere besides the hospital. It was a big step for us!! Lauren's
immune system has
basically been non-existent . I can't risk her catching any germs. She has already had a lot of delays,
and I just
want to keep
moving forward,
crossing days off the calendar until her last day of treatment in July 2018. It seems so far away, but once we get in the maintenance phase (around January ) things should start to feel more normal, and I will be able to bring her more places and do more fun things.
