Making Five Little Pumpkins with Melissa Thomas

Materials:

Orange, black, white construction paper

Elmer’s glue

Scissors

Crayon

I drew and then cut out 5 pumpkins from orange construction paper. I then cut out eyes, noses, and mouths. I placed them on white paper so he could pick out whichever one he wanted to use on the pumpkin. For older friends, they can make and cut out their own faces!

I placed a green piece of paper down so glue wouldn’t go everywhere. I showed him how to make a dot of glue (but to be honest, the glue didn’t come out fast so it worked nice!) He used a dot of glue for the eyes and nose and used several dots for the mouth. We let the pumpkins dry over night. We then drew a gate onto white paper and then he glued on the pumpkins. To finish it, I wrote “5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate.” Super easy and little mess!
