Lauren and McKinley's

Journeys

Hello,

I am writing this update from the hospital:( Lauren was admitted the Saturday after Thanksgiving for fever and low counts. Her fever continues and she is on a pretty high dose of IV antibiotics every 8 hours. This is standard anytime she has a fever and is admitted. Her ANC is 30 and she needs to be at least 200 and be fever free before we can leave. Blood cultures have been taken and we are waiting for those results to come back. Hopefully they are negative for bacterial growth. Hoping it's days rather than weeks before we can bring her home.

She just finished a pretty intense round of chemo last week. She will have another round of chemo that will start once her counts come back up. This will take us through to the beginning of February when she will start maintenance.

It's been a pretty quiet month. We have been staying in our little bubble for most of the month because of her low counts and

high risk of

infection.

We have gone to the

beach a few times for sunset and it's been nice to get out of the house and enjoy some new scenery.

I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for including all of you for supporting us throughout these last almost 9 months. Thank you friends!!

Xoxo
